Penny's Tale | Chapter 6
Gunther's den was actually a huge, vast cave, with a domed ceiling and a smooth floor. Gunther sat down in the back, leaving plenty of space for the trio. Penny noticed that there were two tunnel entrances beside Gunther.
"You're heard rumorsss about thisss island, I sssee," Gunther rumbled to Esmerelda, who was sitting as still as a stalagmite, her dark scales blending into the shadows. "Gooood. Baaaad dragonsss will ssstay away. But you sssee, thissss place isss a paradissse, and I am the ruler. There are all elements here, and there isss plenty of room. This group of islandssss is bigger than any wizard park you'll ever ssssee."
"So can we

Thump. Scraaape. Thump. Scraaape. Scraaape.
"What is it?" whispered Scales frightfully, pressing himself to Penny's side. His burnt scales felt raw and rough against hers.
Esmerelda whimpered, flattening herself to the ground. "Let's go, let's go!" she pleaded. "All I know is, it's something big, and it has scales of stone. Now, let's hide!" She sprang to her feet shakily and hid under a bush.
Scales staggered after her and pushed himself beside her, eyes wide.
Penny stood where she was. I've dealt with worse things than dragons before, she thought bravely, outstretching her wings to look bigger. And if this thing is a dragon...

The stormy sky was a dark, gloomy gray, with clouds that sparked with gathering electricity. Penny flew below the clouds, her Lightning element meaning that she could fly in a storm and still be safe for a while. She thought she could hear multiple wingbeats behind her, but when she looked back, she didn't see anything.
She was beginning to feel tired yet again. Curse Ed for not giving me enough food! she thought furiously. Now I am forever weak and tired!
There it was again! Penny was sure she could hear a wingbeat this time. Without turning her head, she suddenly flared out her wings, lurching to a stop. She wheeled about in a blink, and c

"Hey! Hey you, wake up!"
Penny opened her eyes, vision blurry with sleep. "Wha...?"
"Yes, you with the metal horns!"
Penny raised her head. In front of her was the Swamp Dragon from before, the one she had thought couldn't talk.
"I'm Scales," he said. "Who are you?"
"What do you want?" she asked, hunger making her voice sound sharper than she intended.
"Well, remember yesterday? Sorry I didn't reply, but I was just surprised. I never saw a dragon quite like you before."
"And?" Penny desperately wanted to eat, and more than that, she wanted to find a better home. "I'm kind of busy, Scales, so..."
"I know! And I wanted to show you something," S

Keep going! Keep going! You're almost there, thought Penny determinedly to herself as she forced her exhausted wings to keep flapping. But she had been flying for hours, and the underweight Copper Dragon felt herself falling through the sky, and she let herself fall with a sigh of resignation. She crash-landed on a tiny sky island that glimmered with lightning crystals. This could work. One of Penny's elements was Lightning.
Folding her wings and standing up, Penny walked around, sniffing the air. She caught the scent of fruit and followed the scent hungrily. She came to a patch of Dragon Root, and she began to gulp down the precious food at

The Copper Dragon egg was so close to hatching that faint cracks had begun to appear all over its dark surface. The hatchling inside was fully-formed, and so big that her body was pushing against the shell. It was time to hatch. But there was something confining her from breaking out...
The instinctive fear of being stuck forever in her egg, dead, as a decorative egg pedestal, filled her entire tiny body. Not even hatched, the Copper Dragonling was already facing a danger that would threaten her life.
Rebelliously she smashed her silvery coin-tipped tail against the shell, and a starburst of cracks formed. She kept smashing the shells with he

A two-headed Epic dragon haunted Whitbee's dreams, its four eyes blue, gold orbs on its wings and heads glowing like moons. It opened its mouth, and a booming voice rang out: "Whitbee...Whitbee..."
What? she dared to ask back, and in her dream her voice was quiet and drawn out like an echo.
"Find the others who can see the dark," whispered the Omen Dragon, hovering in front of her majestically. Mist had begun to hide the edges of Whitbee's dream. "The most common dragon with a unique heart. A prickly dragon with spikes forever green. An icy dragon that thunders through the sky. The rare light that comes with wind that's never seen. A dragon

The Omen of the Vale | Chapter 1
Flake flew over a Happy Tree, bored to death. The Wizards were out throwing dragon treats into the habitats for dinner, and as zazzberries, pumpermelons, and sarjin peppers bounced onto the grass of the plant habitat, he swooped down, catching a talonful of pumpermelon before it hit the ground, and ate it high in one of the Happy Trees. The two other dragons that shared his habitat- Fungus the moss dragon and Glory the plant dragon- chatted excitedly while munching on their snacks, not caring that a little evergreen dragon overhead was eavesdropping.
"Have you heard?" Glory was saying, mouth full of zazzberries. "Dragons have been turning aga
